About the Vancouver Firefighters Credit Union

With the advent of World War II, a group of city Fire Fighters decided to pool their funds into a co-operative institution that could provide other Fire Fighters with a secure financial environment. As a result of their vision in 1940, the Vancouver Firefighters’ Credit Union was born. For over 70 years the Credit Union has provided financial safety and security to those who provide safety and security to Vancouver citizens. The Vancouver Firefighters’ Credit Union philosophy of sharing our profits with our members is an advantage you just won’t find anywhere else. Your money stays here to work for you and we’re here to work with you to make financial services make sense. The more services you use, the greater your share of the profits will be. We pay you back for just being a member! It’s our way of saying “thanks for doing business with us.”

All active and retired firefighters and their immediate families are eligible for membership.

The Vancouver Firefighters’ Credit Union has achieved success within the Vancouver jurisdiction over it’s more than 75-year history.
